Classes

Class 1

Class 1 is the pinnacle of F1Time. Only the best managers ever make it and many don't last long. To race and succeed in C1 requires near perfect DRPs every race, finely tuned strategies, one of the best drivers, brilliant design with many strategic decisions being made by the best players weeks, even seasons in advance. The ultimate accolade of Class 1 Champion awaits anyone who can beat the rest of the field and the entire of F1Time.

Class 2

Class 2 is one of the top classes, and as such, is difficult to race and succeed in. DRPs must be high every race, with very good setups, good staff and long term planning a must for any budding C2 manager. Long term planning is even more important than in C3, with testing schedules and supplier packages a constant battleground. Promoting from C2 is a great achievement as it allows you to compete with the best managers in the game.

Class 3

Class 3 is where the racing really begins for any F1Time manager. DRP, setup, and strategy becomes more improtant in the race, so learning how to get a good DRP is essential to success and something new C4 managers should have been working on from their first race. Different supplier packages become available, as do designed parts; you're no longer racing in a spec series and are now racing for real, with your management decisions having big effects.

Success in C3 comes with budgeting, improving DRPs and strategies, working on the right areas of design and beginning to think about acquiring staff for a push into C2. Many promoting managers may struggle to score points in the first few races, but with time, many develop the necessary skills to compete competitively in C3.

Class 6

Class 6 is where all new players begin, and is the ideal place to begin to learn all the skills you need to be successful within the game. Class 6 is a new division beginning in season 38. The class structure underwent some major changes to help ensure that new players are able to get to grips with the game quicker, and to level the playing field with more experienced players who may be returning to the game. The most important of these changes are highlighted below:

  • Everybody in C6 now races using the same engine, gearbox and tyre suppliers.
  • Your DRP will automatically be set to their optimal distribution during the practice, qualifying, and race. DRP is still available though so you may learn this tricky feature to ensure you can succeed at higher levels of the game.
  • You will only be able to fit your car with the most basic level parts.
It is also worth noting that more than four people may promote from C6. Sometimes as many as ten or more people can promote, which means that as the end of the season approaches, you need to bear in mind that you may be facing a lot tougher competition next season.
