The FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) tries to answer some of the common questions managers may have. You should always check this section before posting on the forums.

Starting out

I registered for F1TIME and have been waiting for activation for longer than 24 hours. What is taking so long?

Your account may be delayed because the Admins are busy, but usually a longer than expected wait is because the game is between seasons and new accounts are not activated until after the season reset. Don’t worry, you will still have plenty of time to make the first race and can use the time to read the Rules and Guide as well as join the Forums.

When will I race?

There is a countdown above the Task bar at the top right of the page. You can also find your race times on your League Info page. Remember all times are GMT, including the server time on the menu bar.

Racing issues

I’ve tried everything and I’m still getting 0% DRP in practice. It must be a bug, what should I do?

Each track is different and requires a different DRP setup. Some tracks like Monaco have a very unique DRP. It may be hard to discover, but it is not a bug. Read the DRP section of the Guide carefully and take your time.

In the track description I found 2 numbers for every section. What do they mean?

These numbers are called section dynamics and section sharpness. These numbers relate to the corner attributes of the track and are used to compute the optimal wing setup for this section.

How can I watch the race while it's running?

You can watch it with Live Race or the Mobile Race Viewer.

I had a crash and the race report says my driver got hurt. Will he be able to race?

Yes, he will be able to race, but he'll lose some form and stamina.

In my group, someone had an engine explosion but still got points, is this a bug?

As soon as the leader finishes the race, everybody has to complete their current lap and then the race is over for everyone. So, for example if all but the first 4 drivers have been lapped and the 2nd has an engine explosion in the very last lap, the 5th doesn't have a chance to overtake him, so even though he had an explosion, he can finish 4th and get points. This is consitent with F1-rules and definitely not a bug.

Do pitstops happen at the beginning of a lap or at its end?

Pitstops always happen at the end of a lap. So when you order your first stop to be in lap 20, you actually will stop at the end of lap 20. In other words: You will drive the whole 20 laps before refuelling, keep that in mind when planning your fuel usage.

Staffing issues

Why didn't I get a new sponsor offer after the race? Where did my sponsor offers go?

You can have only 3 offers pending or in negotiations. If you have 3 your commerce director will not be looking for a new sponsor next race so you will have to reject or sign one of the offers if you want them to look for a new one. If you keep a sponsor waiting too long or negotiate with them too much they may decide to leave you and look for another team to sponsor.

Also, your Commerce Director has a limited number of hours to find new sponsors. If they use all their hours negotiating a current offer they can not find any new sponsors.

I made an offer in the market for a driver/designer/commerce director and they were negotiating with me, but it is gone. Why did they not sign with me?

This could be because of a few reasons. The most common reason is that they signed with someone else. They may have also received 3 new offers that were greater than any current negotiation and decided to negotiate those offers. You may have also reset the offer while trying to edit it. To edit an existing offer make sure you edit it in ‘your offers’ and not resubmit a brand new offer using ‘make an offer’.

The season is ending and I haven’t been able to hire a new driver. What will happen to me?

You will be assigned a random driver (designer, commerce director) from your league’s pool of unsigned staff for a 1 season contract worth $1 million per race.

General questions

Why do some players have stars (*) beside their names?

The stars (*) are given to managers who win the Class 1 championship. Each star represents a championship title so a manager may have multiple stars.

Someone ahead of me in the standings isn't racing, will I get ranked above them?

In Classes 1 through 3 inactive players are not removed so you must attain more points to pass them in the standings, no matter how few races they have run. Ties are decided by who has the most first places, then second places, thirds, etc. until the tie is broken.

I have made a mistake, can you reset/undo my last action?

Unfortunately, mistakes happen to everyone and this is a live/online game, so nothing can be done to undo what you have already done, or we would have to start doing it for everyone and that would leave no time for anything else in the game. Try to learn from your mistakes and make sure they do not happen again. Better yet, learn from the mistakes of others, read the guide and, if you need help or explanation, always ask in the forums.

I want to restart playing from the beginning, can you please place my account in C4 or reset it?

Your account can only be reset after you miss 4 races in a row in the lowest class (Class 4) or you use the retire button at the season reset. After that your account will marked as "inactive" and you can login and apply for a new office again in Class 4.

I want to create a new account because my old account is not good anymore (made too many mistakes, no money left, etc.), can I create new account?

No, no one is allowed to have more than one account as it is stated in the rules (please read them). If you attempt to create multiple accounts, you may be disqualified for a whole season or even blocked from the game for good. Your account will never be deleted (unless you break game rules), so even if you decide to take a break and come back a month later, you will be able to apply for new office from your old account. You can always request your password be sent to your email from the link on the front page.
