Marc Townsend has compiled a list of things you can do to help ease the transition from Class 4 to Class 3. This is especially helpful if you promote unexpectedly. A big thank you to those who helped with suggestions!

Accept the fact that there are many managers who are faster than you are

- Chat in your group forum, it makes the game more fun, and you would be surprised at the amount of hints and tips people accidentally give away. - Don't complain about the quality of your driver. Your driver will improve if you improve. A good driver will not fix a bad manager. - Keep up to date with the bugs forum, look out for things which affect you.

Accept the fact that you may not score a point... the entire season

(see #2).

Accept the fact that you may not win a race... the entire next 2 seasons

(see #2 & #3)

Start making a checklist of things to do... do them

- Create a list of all the different things you have to do before the race in the order you should do them and then follow that list. E.g) Save race report, Sponsers, check staff, car design, testing, practice, etc.

Have your car in shape to run... the entire race

(out of fuel, exploded tire) - Always put slightly more fuel than you calculate. - Use your tyres for 2 or 3 less laps than you expect them to last unless you have reliable data. - Experiment with your fuel loads. You may want to run light at the beginning of a race, or light at the end, or run balanced loads the entire race. - Be careful with blocking and overtaking settings. High values can be costly. - Discuss strategies with your teammate. - Try to learn your opponents tactics, e.g) what sort of race strategies they do.

Run every race... the entire season

Finish the season with a positive balance!

- BE SENSIBLE when choosing suppliers. - Work your budget based on finishing 20th every race, not 1st! - Remember that you're allowed 6 sponsors (see marketing) - Sign sponsors that give the most money for each race rather than points. You won't score many points. - Consider the return for your money when training your pit crew, mechanics and engineers. You may choose to do this or not.

Concentrate on your car through design and testing efforts

- Use your engine and gearbox revisions wisely. - Make a design improvement every race. Put this on your checklist! - Consider your testing options carefully. Depending on your goals you may choose power over reliability, or vice versa. But always remember rule #6! - Change your livery from the default. We all like to see the pretty cars on race day!Smile
